It is one of the oldest well preserved Church (Pieve) in San Miniato. The oldest documents that back a christian colony living in this area in the VIII century. The Church dates back ti the late IX century, later enlarged in the XII.

The countryside of San Miniato is characterized by strong neighborhood ties, a tenacious attachment to historical, popular and religious traditions. Among these hamlet, Corazzano is one of the oldest (as proved by the Pieve di San Giovanni Battista dated IX century, a national cultural heritage). The village often organizes initiatives thanks to the commitment of the ARCI Club and other Cooperative and Sports Association.
